CHAPTER ONE

BEST IN SHOW

Dog training is a competitive biz, and people are real sensitive about where they send their animals for training. So it's not enough to get results - you have to build trust, have good web design, and have good grassroots branding to go along with it. Like a lot of our clients, Elite K-9 had tons of expertise in their field, but needed help getting the word out.

CHAPTER TWO

GONE THE WAY OF OLD YELLER

Aw, it probably makes you a little sad just reading a headline about Old Yeller. But imagine spending your hard-earned money on a logo, going through revisions with someone a thousand miles away, only to hate the end product. That's sadder than Old Yeller (because you know, Old Yeller was just a movie). The logo that Chris from Elite K-9 came to us with had a strange Russian-esque font, and the dog looked more like a long-necked hyena than his incredible, highly trained German Shepherd. So it was time to take that old logo out to the barn, and start over with a brand new pup.

This is Ryelie. She is a highly-trained service dog, and the model/mascot for Elite K-9 Training. Though very sweet, she is highly intelligent and trained to do all kind of crazy tactical work. Through a composite of many pictures of Ryelie, we were able to create a profile to use for the final version of the Elite K-9 logo.

One of the most important things Chris wanted to get across in his branding was a sharp, sophisticated "elite" look. So many training websites are "cutesy" and that wasn't the target audience for Elite K-9. In the capable hands of our design team, we were able to makeover this logo to something that Chris was extremely happy with. It's clean, it tells a distinct story and it has a clear feel to it. Plus it didn't look like some strange Russian-font hyena-giraffe hybrid like the previous logo, so that's a bonus...

CHAPTER THREE

HOMEPAGE BOUND

Like we mentioned before, a lot of dog training websites are very "cutesy." There's nothing wrong with being cute. But if it's not your brand, it's not your brand. Dogs are cute, but they're also wild animals in spirit. Maybe you want something more than a snuggle buddy or a lap dog. Maybe you want your dog to go on crazy outdoor excursions with you (and help rescue you if you get in a bind). If that's the case, Elite K-9's website would likely appeal to you. They of course do standard training, but it's their elite tactical training side that sets them apart.

CHAPTER FOUR

PIECES OF FLAIR

Yes, we have more than 15 piece of flair. We do more than the bare minimum. In the case of Elite K-9, we could fill up a whole website with all the brand collateral we've made: feather flags, business cards, flyers, leave-behind cards, trailer wraps, t-shirts and more!
